Target Minerals:
Gold, Silver, Copper & Zinc
Size:
5,500 Ha.
Location:
The property is located in the Monte Plata and Hato Major provinces approximately one and a half hours drive from the capital Santo Domingo. Access to the property is excellent with several drivable paved and dirt roads crossing the property.
Property Geology and Mineralization:
The property is located entirely within the Los Ranchos Formation. Geological mapping would suggest replacement mineralization is perhaps flat lying. The best geochemical values are associated with outcropping gossanous zones.
As of June 2003, 327 rock samples have been taken from the west of the concession. 66 rock samples returned values >0.1 g/t Au and 20 of those returned values >1 g/t Au. 54 of the rock samples have returned values >0.1% Cu.
Maximum rock geochemical values include 9.56 g/t Au, 326 g/t Ag, 6.63% Cu and 2.7% Zn.
A total of 508 soil samples have been taken from the west of the concession with 9 samples returning >0.1 g/t Au and 7 samples >0.1% Cu. Nine soil samples returned Mo values >10 ppm.
Maximum soil geochemical values include 1.13 g/t Au, 4.07 g/t Ag, 539 ppm As, 13.05 ppm Cd, 0.17% Cu, 19.35 ppm, 0.87 ppm Hg, Mo, 2.45 ppm In, 56 ppm Mo, 206 ppm Pb, 20.9 ppm Sb, 11.1 ppm Te and 0.13%Zn.
A soil anomalous area of 1,400 m by 700 m with soil values up to 1.1 g/t Au and Cu values up to 0.16 has been identified as a drill target. Within the gold soil anomalous area, rock samples have returned a maximum value of 9.56 g/t Au, with 19 samples greater than 1 g/t Au including 9.5 g/t, 5.7 g/t, 4.8 g/t, 3.96 g/t, 3.83 g/t and 2.45 g/t.
The results of a short drill program failed to show any depth extent to the surface gold geochemistry. The best intervals in holes 1 and 2 were 2 metres of 2.6 g/t Au and 0.3% Cu and 2 metres of 2.27 g/t Au and 0.6% Cu. MinMet and Energold plan no immediate work on this concession at this time.
Exploration:
GoldQuest Mining Corp. has acquired 51% of the property by having spent $150,000 in exploration funds.
