North West Trend Identified At El Centenario
|Energold Mining Ltd. announces the second set of assay results (12 holes) from the drilling program at the El Centenario epithermal gold deposit in the Dominican Republic. Gopher holes HC-96-44 to 55 inclusive were drilled on sections 350E to 450E.|
To summarize, drilling indicates the deposit remains open to the east in the higher grade area of the deposit and to the NW. Hole HC -96-48 includes the highest grade intersection yet drilled at El Centenario of 14.28 grams per tonne over 18 metres and confirms the NW trend indicated by Holes HC-96-43, 44 , HH-95-35, and HC-94-04. Energold will increase its current program a further 1,500 metres, approximately 20 holes to test the SE and NW extensions.
Holes HC-96-49 and HC-96-50 drilled to the N have a marked increase in silver which suggests that they may have passed over top of the gold zone. Holes HC-96- 52, 53 and 54 were drilled prior to the receipt of the previous results and reconfirm the SW limit to the zone.
Starting in early October a total of 19 Gopher holes (HC-96-37 to 55) have been completed for 1,346.1 metres of drilling until December 13th when the drill was shut down for tune up and maintenance. Assays have now been received for all of the 19 Gopher holes. The first seven Gopher holes have been reported in the December 20, 1996 release. The drill program recommenced on January 15, 1997. A map showing drill collar locations, including recently completed holes HC-97-56 and 57, is attached to this release.
