Strong Geochem Anomaly Confirmed At Majagual
|Analyses of soil, float and outcrop samples at the Majagual copper-gold property in the Dominican Republic have outlined the El Cinco zone, a strong copper geochemical anomaly of between 250 ppm and 4,670 ppm Cu in soils, which measures 1000m x 400m, and remains open to the south-east.|
A co-incident gold anomaly in soils with gold values up to one gram is also present. Float and outcrop samples grade up to 4 grams gold and 7% copper. Of 323 samples analysed, 72 gold samples averaged 0.56 g/T Au, with 16 samples greater than 1 g/T Au. Copper mineralization is more widespread than gold mineralization, and is most intense within a siliceous breccia zone. Over half the samples grade better than 0.1% Cu. Co-incident molybdenum values and peripheral zinc anomalies also occur, suggesting the presence of a porphyry system. Detailed geological mapping, IP and magnetometer surveying are underway to better define drill targets.
IMPACT Minerals is earning a 60% interest in the Majagual concession by spending $1.25 million over four years.
