The REY MIDAS concession is underlain by rocks of the Los Ranchos Formation, which hosts the Pueblo Viejo deposit approximately 55 km east of Pueblo Viejo.
Property Geology and Mineralization:
Geological mapping and prospecting outlined a zone of northwest trending quartz-sulphide veins cutting argilically altered spillite of the Los Ranchos formation in the southern portion of the concession, adjacent to Globestar Mining's Managua concession. The program confirmed the extension of the Kiosk Vein and Orange Field Zone at Managua onto the Rey Midas concession. A mineral inventory of 6 million tonnes of 2.2 g/t Au and 5.67 g/t Ag and 0.81% copper has been outlined in northwest striking, steeply dipping quartz veins at Managua.
Trenching and channel sampling of steeply dipping, northwest trending, gold-bearing quartz sulphide veins on Rey Midas have yielded up to 0.58 g/t Au and 38.6 g/t Ag over 2.5 metres and 0.64 g/t Au and 51.4 g/t Ag over 0.6 metres. Mineralized float samples have yielded up to 7.8 g/t Au and 2.0 g/t Ag.
